V. Ram Gopal Rao, Professor, department of Electrical Engineering Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) – Mumbai has announced on Tuesday that they have developed a device called iSense with the help of nanotechnology which would detect heart ailments and predict possible heart attack by doing a blood test, and is incubating a company to produce the device,
He was at SKP Engineering College here where he came to attend a seminar, he said: “Though research on Integrated Chips (ICs) can be done and designs can be developed in India, production of ICs cannot be done here. Hence the Government of India wants to develop research work and nurture expertise here so that companies can start production of ICs in India. With that motive, the government has created several centres of excellence at places like IIT-B, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, etc. Other colleges in India can use the research facilities available at those centres to fabricate the models developed by their students and faculties", he added.
