Hand written and 20 years validity passports will become invalid from next year

According to the official announcement by the passport authorities, handwritten and 20 years validity passports will become invalid from next November. Authorities also announced that since there is no police verification held for Tatkal passports, the issue of passport through this system is limited only to people who are going to a foreign country for emergency medical treatment or immediate need to join in a company to work.
However, on identifying any wrong information or details furnished during the police verification after the Tatkal passport is issued, legal actions will be taken.
Tatkal passport is issued in 3 days, whereas normal passport is issued in 10 to 15 days time. And, you must have at least 6 months time for your passport renewal period at the time of visa application. But if the renewal period is very close, you will not be allowed to fly even if you get your visa.
Authorities emphasize people having hand written passports issued in 1995 and 1996 and those having a passport with validation up to 20 years to immediately renew their passports to avoid last minute complications.
