From now, the postman will not only delivers the letters for the farmer, but also the seeds required by him!
This plan is set to be introduced by the Ministry of Agriculuture in 14 states across the country in a short period.
The central government sells quality seeds from the agricultural universities at lower process for the benefit of the farmers.
However, the universities are located at far-off places making it difficult for the farmers to go there directly and get them. For getting them, they will have to spend money on the couriers.
The central government is planning to solve this problem by taking the responsibility of delivering the seeds to the farmers’ addresses.Central government’s Agricultural Research Centres will be responsible for this.
In the 1st stage, the seeds will be supplied free of cost to the farmers. Once the first delivery is used up and the benefit enjoyed, the farmers will have to bear the postal costs by themselves from the next time.
