More than 1800 flights of SpiceJet are cancelled for this month due to mounting troubles.
SpiceJet, part of Sun Group has cancelled exactly 1861 flights till the end of December; mostly domestic airlines and a few connecting Kathmandu, Nepal. Spice Jet is under pressure from DGCA and AAI.
Airports Authority India is demanding bank guarantee for its dues around Rs.200 crores. Due to the poor financial conditions of SpiceJet, DGCA has asked to clear the employees’ salary dues immediately apart from withdrawing 186 slots from SpiceJet.
This has caused concern for Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju. He is very much worried on the poor financial conditions of all domestic airlines whether it is public or private sector.
