Healthy Food Recipes - Coconut Rava Burfi

Ingredients:
  • Grated Coconut – 1 cup
  • Rava – 1 cup
  • Sugar – 1 cup
  • Ghee – 5 Spoons
  • Cashew nuts – 10 nos
  • Salt – To taste
  • Cardamom Powder – little
Method:
  1. Grind the cashew nuts to a fine powder and keep it aside.



  2. Heat the ghee in a non-stick pan, roast the rava separately and keep it aside.
  3. In a pan take the sugar, add enough water (just the sugar gets dissolve) and bring to boil. Remove the impurities if any.
  4. Then continue cooking the sugar, till you get a one thread consistency.



  5. Now add the roasted rava and stir well without any formation of the cramps.
  6. Add the cashew nut powder to it.
  7. It’s time to add the grated coconut and add a pinch of salt to it.



  8. Mix everything well and sprinkle the cardamom powder and add 3 spoons of ghee to it.
  9. Stir the mix for every two minutes, so that not to allow it to be sticky on the pan. 
  10. Allow it to cook for about 10 minutes and keep a greased plate ready. Pour the coconut mix into the prepared plate and garnish the roasted cashews on the top and press in gently. Allow it to cool for some time.



  11. Make marks on top when it is hot, else it will be tough to break into pieces once the burfi sets.



  12.  Once it sets for half an hour, you can bring them into pieces and store it in an air tight container.



Notes:
  • This is an apt dish for the children evening snacks or you can also it to them as a school snacks.
  • In our day to day life, we are using coconut in various forms – we are including coconut in many dishes, apply coconut oil on our skin and on our hair and so on.
  • Though we are employing coconut in many forms, the good fat in coconut will turn out to be a bad one after cooking. Hence keep in mind that you should cook the coconut for longer duration.
  • Instead of cooking with coconut, you can simply add it to chutney items.
  • Augment the intake of raw coconut milk daily, as it has the potent to slay stomach worms and cure stomach ulcer.
  • The calcium content in coconut, is very good for strengthening bones.
  • It has the potent to strengthen both the blood nerves in our body.
  • Since coconut has high immune power, it is highly advisable to include it more often for children, it may shield them from frequent cold and fever infections.
  • Coconut has the potency to treat several heart related illness.
  • The fat content in coconut plays a major part in protecting the blood pipes from bursting.
  • So as the get rid of stomach worms, and to cure both the stomach and mouth ulcers, it is good to intake raw coconut milk in empty stomach.
  • M>Monolaurin, the compound essential for elevating immune system, is better present in the coconut.
  • Thus by consuming coconut, will increase the immune power and reduce the blood pressure.
