Central Government’s Tourism Department sells tickets for visiting Taj Mahal in Agra.
Indian visitors are charged Rs. 20/-.
Iraq visitors are charged Rs. 510/-.
Other foreign country visitors are charged Rs. 750/-.
No tickets are required for children under the age of 16.
With thousands of visitors all the time, there is always a long queue for getting the tickets.
Guides & middle-men take advantage of the long waiting by selling tickets at extra price.
In order to prevent this and to avoid long waiting hours under the sun, the central tourism department has now introduced on-line booking of tickets for visiting Taj Mahal.
This comes into effect from today.
This would be beneficial for tourists, especially those coming from long distances.
They can register the details of time & date of visit.
On-line ticketing facility has also been started for visiting Humayun Tomb.
In the next phase, on-line ticket booking facility will be introduced for all popular tourist spots in India.
