Security was beefed up at major airports after intelligence agencies warned of a possible hijack attempt.
Two ‘terror’ calls from a woman kept the CISF squad responsible for the security at airport on their toes from Saturday midnight to Sunday afternoon after the caller told the CISF Delhi control room that ‘explosions will take place in Chennai and Hyderabad airports and many Air India flights were set to be hijacked on Sunday.
Though the calls received at the control room were found to be hoax after the CISF conducted intensive searches in the two airports. The first call landed on Saturday midnight and the second call, from a mobile phone, at around 8.30 am Sunday.
