AIIMS Medical Hospital proposed in Tamil Nadu in 200 acres of land!

Health Department officials informed that AIIMS fully established medical hospital is to be set up in Tamil Nadu in an area of 200 acres at a cost of Rs. 2000 Crores.

The central government Health Minister, Mr. J P Nadda was visiting Chennai on Saturday, 3rd January.

He informed that a special team would shortly visit Tamil Nadu to select the location for a proposed AIMS hospital. This news confirms the setting up of AIIMS hospital in Tamil Nadu.

Tamil Nadu Health Department officials informed that the central minister was appreciative of the effort of Tamil Nadu government on the health sector setting an example for other states.

The central government has decided to set up AIMS hospital in Tamil Nadu in an area of 200 acres at a cost of Rs. 2000 Crores.

A list of 5 possible locations – Chengalpattu in Kanchipuram district, Pudukkottai city in Pudukkottai district, Chengipatti in Tanjore district, Perundhurai in Erode district, and Thoppur in Madurai district – has been made.

The faculties of drinking water, electricity, train & bus connections are all available in these 5 places. Airports are also located nearby.

The central committee of experts will visit these places and then analyse and decide the location for AIIMS hospital. The construction activities are expected to start immediately after. This will pave the way for further growth in Tamil Nadu medical sector.

Poorer sections of the society will benefit while the quality of the medical education will improve.
