6 Lessons we’ve learned from Pk !

1.“Joh dar gaya who mandir gaya !”

Wow! No that’s just so true. Religion has often been used an element of fear to control one’s life.

The Pharisee attitude and rituals have given way to religion and killed  the relationship  aspect with the creator.

2. “Bhagwaan se baath karein ka  communication system is gola ka total lull ho chukka hai /Yeh Wrong no hai.”

Yup, we’ve all being dialing some wrong no’s here and certain superstitions and rituals cut off our communication lines with God. Some of these barriers may well be residing within us- Prejudice, hatred, bitterness, unforgiveness.

3.The concept of 2 Gods !

Now this for me was probably one of the best moments of the film. Primarily as Pk doesn’t deny the existence of GOD.

Bang On ! There are 2 Gods .Yup…2  !

One that created us and the other that we’ve created with all our perceptions, ritualistic thought processes etc.

4. “Apne apne bhagwan ki raksha karna band karo … nahi toh is gola mein insaan nahi sirf jootha reh jayega”

(Stop protecting your god … or else only shoes will be left on this planet and not humans)

Isn’t this so true in the light of what we have seen recently at Peshawar?

History is full of such horrific tragedies in the name of religion or a higher calling  and probably all we’re left with is blood stained memorabilia .

5.The patterns of THIS world .

Pk states in the movie that on his planet, people( if I may call them ) are aliens to the ways of this world. He says they don’t conform to the patterns of this world i.e. they don’t  lie out there .

Yet, ironic at the end Pk learns one thing from Humans..to LIE ! Thought-Provoking !

6.Fashion

On A lighter note Pk taught us a little about fashion.  Some new trends and pairing up options.

Be Bold and wear what you feel like , be it a Skirt and a blazer or a yellow helmet.

Don’t be too bothered about others and please don’t go ahead and try correcting someone’s fashion sense (Wink ! Wink ! )

Additional point:

I think Pk has had one of the finest music albums in 2014 . Hummable, sweet and melodious.

Amazing lyrics unlike several tracks this year. Hats off to Shantanu Moitra and Swanand Kirkire .
