Posted on: 02/Nov/2010 2:16:03 AM
The much awaited Koyambedu grade separator, which has been partially open, will soon be opened to traffic. According to officials of the National Highways Authority of India, the implementing agency about 90 per cent of the work has been completed .The main carriageway and the remaining three loops are nearing completion.

Commuting public may have to waite still more as there are still problems in land acquisitions. Until the entire retaining wall is completed, the two-lane traffic from Maduravoyal side may have to move along only one lane when approaching Arumbakkam due to safety reasons, an official said. The traffic between Vadapalani and Arumbakkam; Maduravoyal to Vadapalani; and Anna Nagar to Maduravoyal have been linked through loops. The service road that connects traffic from Anna Nagar to Arumbakkam has been open to traffic for the last two months. Work on the service road from Maduravoyal to Anna Nagar has been completed.

Once if it is open will be great relief as commuters of all types of vehicles have to sometimes waite for more than 30 minutes at the road approaching the junction.
