The intelligence department had warned about threats from terrorist agencies. Hence, security arrangements have been beefed up.
3-tier security management system has been implemented at the Chennai Air-port. More security personnel have been deployed at the domestic & international airports.
All precautionary measures have been undertaken.
As a part of security measures, visitors will not be permitted in the airport from midnight today (Tuesday, 20th January). This will be enforced till 30th January.
Visitors pay an admission of Rs. 60/- per head to enter the airport. However, owing to the occasion of Republic Day and the necessity for extra security, visitors will not be allowed inside the airport for 10 days beginning today (20th January)!
