An exclusive event took place at IIT-Madras where a centre for students to develop devices that’s helpful for people was inaugurated. These devices are intended to be of help for people with locomotor impairments.
This centre named TTK centre for Rehabilitation Research and Device Development (R2D2) which is exclusively for Mechanical Engineering will receive its funding from TTK group which is headed by the institution’s former student TT Jagannathan.
Speaking about this, the associate professor and head of the centre, Dr Sujatha Srinivasan said the centre develops prototypes of various devices. These will be of help to enable people with physical impairment lead their lives independently.
