For the past few days, the crowd level of devotees was just about normal in Tirupathi. Sever winter & cold also reduce the number of devotees. Even till yesterday (23rd January) morning, the crowd level was less.
However, there was increase of visiting devotees during the evening. The crowd of devotees became unmanageable within a few hours. There was a long queue of 3 km devotees outside the temple for Darshan. They had to wait for up to 20 hours to have Darshan.
There was a rush of devotees who came by foot as well & 10 compartments were overflowing with them. They had to wait for 8 hours to have Divya Darshan.
Devotees having Rs. 300/- tickets had to wait for 3 hours for Darshan.
3 successive holidays from Saturday till Monday is attributed to be the main reason for the sudden surge in devotees.
Because of this, VIP Darshan for tomorrow (25th January) has been cancelled.
With ‘Ratha Sapthami’ festival falling on Monday, the possibilities of cancelling VIP Darshan on Monday as well are being explored.
