The Collectorate office of the Chennai Traffic Police has instructed all RTOs to take action to remove the fake hologram INDs on the number plates of the vehicles
The central government implemented the procedure of fixing high-security number plates on vehicles in order for better national security and prevent the operation of stolen vehicles.
As per this, the vehicles should fix number plates of the approved list of hologram manufacturers. However, Tamil Nadu is lagging in this implementation as compared to other states.

The judges ordered an enquiry about the manufacture of fake number plates.
Following this, RTOs have been checking the vehicles where blue-coloured fake holograms INDs have been fixed.
The vehicle owners with fake holograms are fines Rs. 100/-. They are also instructed to remove the fake hologram number plate.
