4 Laddus were being offered at Rs. 25/- for the devotees who had Dharma Darshan, Divya Darshan, or special Darshan at the Tirupathi temple.
However, TTD (Thirumala Tirupathi Devasthanam Board) found that middlemen were engaged in selling the Laddus in black market at extra prices and thus reduced the number of Laddus for these Darshans from 4 to 2.
TTD Board has now revised the scheme and arranged to offer 4 Laddus without the involvement or disruption of middlemen.
As per the new arrangement, Dharma Darshan devotees in Vaikumtam-1 queue will be given token for 2 Laddus at Rs. 20/- and additional 2 Laddus at Rs. 25/-.
Devotees of Divya Darshan who came by foot will be given tokens for 1 Laddu free, 2 Laddus at Rs. 20/-, and 2 more Laddus at Rs. 25/-.
The tokens can be taken at the Vaikuntam queue complex. There is no need to stand in a separate queue. As the token contains bar-code, middlemen cannot interfere.
This facility for additional Laddus was introduced from yesterday (Monday, 2nd February).
TTD Board official, Mr. Sambasiva Rao, informed that similar arrangements for more Laddus for senior citizens, physically-handicapped, and pregnant women will be made shortly.
