Further to several criticism and complaints about the unfriendly over-bridge connecting Moore market and park railway station, CMRL is now all set to install escalator, easing its use.
The existing steep steps are too tough to be climbed by the people. Most commuters fall down as they try to climb.
Sources from CMRL say the escalator will soon be set up and that the works are nearing completion. This can be expected to be open for the use of public by next week.
Speaking to CMRL officials, they say the foot over-bridge was provided due to underground works in the station, however pedestrians seem to show hesitance in using these steep stairs and hence they are now going with the choice of escalator as a replacement.
One of the commuters who regularly passes through Poonamallee high road says this is a welcome move, as most people prefer to use escalator than steps.
