Smriti Irani, Minister of Human Resource Development of Government of India in her recent statement said that book stalls will be set up at airports and railway stations so as to inculcate the habit of book reading in people. In her recent speech during the inaugural ceremony of a book fair in New Delhi, she said the Ministry of Human Resource Development will get into talks with the airport and railway departments to set up new book stalls of Government’s National Book Trust.She also added that these stalls will carry books of all languages.
Writer Narendra Koli, speaking in the ceremony, said publishers get bored citing decrease in number of readers, whereas at the same time, readers complaint about difficulty in getting a book. Both these issues can be solved by bringing such book stalls in places where public use more often.
