Chennai city is facing a good rise in its day time temperature in the past few days. Considering the past few days, the city saw above normal temperature in most parts out of which Nungambakkam and Meenambakkam hit the maximum with 32 degree Celsius. Though morning times are found to be chill, the noon times are completely contrary with extremely hot conditions. And the night is cool again.
Road side tender coconut stalls and watermelon kiosks are plummeting in all corners of the city roads. As per reports given by the meteorological department, the average temperature in city roads is 30.05 degree Celsius this month, February, and the temperature is said to have raised by the nearing days of the month now.
Meteorological department sources also say that people who spend more time outdoor find it hotter as the day time carries clear skies. And the level of mist in suburban areas is comparatively higher due to lesser number of concrete structures.
In February, the maximum recorded temperature is 33.1 degree Celsius in Nungambakkam and 33.4 in Meenambakkam. Going back to 2014, the maximum temperatures was 32.3 on February 11.
