Chennai city roads that got damaged due to works for construction of Metro rail projects will soon be patched up and the works will kick-start very soon. This will be done at a cost of Rs 3 crore. Further to the completion of these works, traffic in these areas are expected to get hugely reduced paving way for vehicles to move freely, say officials.
Metro Rail in Chennai:
Metro rail works are being carried out at a cost of Rs 20,000 crore covering a stretch of 45 km. This includes metro service of 13 km between Koyambedu and Alandur the works for which is almost over. The test run is over too. Necessary inspection will be carried out by the officials and the date of launch of metro service in this route will be soon announced. It is most likely that the service will commence by the end of March.

Above are the stations that are set up in this route. These metro rail laying works were carried out on 100 ft road with barricades placed everywhere. This has left most roads damaged and the repairing works are currently on.
