First private Airport to be opened next month!

India’s first privately owned & managed airport will start functioning at Durgapur city in West Bengal from 14th April.
The secretary of the West Bengal State Transport Department, Mr. Alaban Bandopadhyay, in a session with the press reporters, informed that the final stages of construction of the airport are completed. The final ownership/licence will be received from the Directorate of Aviation Transport is expected in a month.
The new airport is owned by the company, Bengal Aerodropolis Projects Limited. The airport is named after the famous Bengali Poet Nazrul Islam.
If all the remaining tasks are completed as per schedule, the authorities have declared that the airport may start functioning from 14th April, which is the First Day of a New Year as per Bengali Calendar.
