Significant growth in commercial LPG cylinders

Sale of commercial LPG cylinders has posted significant growth in Tamil Nadu during the last few months after launch of Direct Benefit Transfer of LPG (DBTL) scheme.
The sale of 19-kg commercial cylinders has been increased by 15 Lakhs since four months.
The growth has been marked after the start of DBTL scheme where the Government is transferring the subsidy amount directly to consumers’ bank account. This indicates that misuse and diversion of subsidized LPG meant for domestic customers has been curbed to a significant extent.
