M. Subramanian Mayor, Chennai Corporation announced that five emergency obstetric care centres of the Chennai Corporation would be inaugurated next month.
The Mayor inspected the construction work of an emergency obstetric care centre in Pulianthope. While speaking to media The Mayor said that seven such facilities were under construction at a cost of Rs.15 crore.
M.K. Stalin, Deputy Chief Minister is expected to inaugurate the centres at Adyar, Sanjeevaroyanpet, Ayanavaram, Shenoy Nagar and Mirsahibpet during next month. The Inauguration of other centers will follow. The Adayar Unit will have 30 beds ,including an operation is developed at an estimated cost of Rs 2.3 Crores. The 20-bed centre on Solaiappan Street, Sanjeevaroyanpet, is developed at an estimated cost of Rs.1.08 Croes the Vadapalani center is modernised at a cost of Rs.150 lakh. The 25-bed facility at Ayanavaram, Shenoy Nagar are developed at cost Rs.1.349 Crores and Rs.1.24-Crores respectively. The Units will have an immunization treatment room, pharmacy, magnavision room, scan room, waiting, neonatal unit and operation theatre and adequate parking space.
