SpiceJet known for its low rates launched discounted ticket sales in which tickets were provided at rates cheaper than AC 2-tier train fares. Over 1.5 lakh seats were made available at Rs 999 that are for the domestic routes with a travel period of three and a half months. In a recent release by the airline, it is said that this low fare rate is for those who carry only cabin baggage. In case if the traveler wants to carry extra baggage, it would be charged Rs 750 for baggage up to 15 kg.
Booking under this offer called ‘Travel Light’ will be open for travel period between 1st July and 15th October. The airline has hugely elevated the airline passenger growth year on year and has in fact shown the highest growth according to reports by IATA data.
Speaking about this, the chief operating officer of SpiceJet, Sanjiv Kapoor said ‘Travel Light’ will furthermore elevate the use of flights by passengers this year as well. This also reduces on the fuel consumption and it is an environment friendly method, he adds.
