Can Engineering graduates apply for TNPSC Group-2 examinations?

TNPSC (Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission) recently announced vacancies to be filled up for 1241 posts of Assistant Commercial Officer, Assistant registrar, Assistant Employees analyst, Good Behaviour Officer in the Department of Prisons, Local assistant auditing analyst, Senior analyst for cooperative unions, hand-loom analyst, revenue Anayst, City Administration Office (Grade-2), and others.
Graduates can apply for Group-2 examinations. Age limits are set up as per the job demands.
B E & B Tech graduates (engineering graduates) have doubts whether they can apply for Group-2 examinations.
A TNPSC official explained on this issue:
The academic qualifications for writing Group-2 examinations have been set as graduates in any one of the various faculties.
However, engineering graduates cannot apply for certain specialised posts such as Assistant Commercial Tax Officer, Good Behaviour officer in the Department of prison, Junior Job opportunities officer, Local accounts auditing analyst, and revenue officer.
They can apply for posts such as registrars, Assistant Employees Analyst, etc.
The announcement regarding these vacancies clearly indicates graduates of which faculties can apply for the described job.
As far as academic qualifications, the candidate should have the academic qualifications as described. The students who are doing final year of graduation cannot apply (especially, Assistant Commercial Tax Officer, Good Behaviour officer in the Department of prison, Junior Job opportunities officer, Local accounts auditing analyst).
