Low priced Dhal introduced by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa

J Jayalalithaa after assuming charges as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister has introduced low priced dhal. A scheme has been launched to sell ‘dhal’ through fair price shops to insulate people from soaring prices in the open market. Half a kg of Toor Dhal will be sold at Rs. 53.50 a kg and urad dhal at Rs.56 and Rs.49.50, depending on the quality. The commodity will be sold through Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation through cooperative sales outlets.
