Though the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India was launched in the year 2011, the effect of functioning of the authority is being felt only from April this year. They are making waves with new findings with their full swing works the first of which was with Maggi noodles by Nestle India. The company has now recalled the product from sale in the market. Further, Nestle’s Maggi Masal Oats Noodles is also recalled as it has not yet got approval from them.
It’s now known that not just Maggi but nearly 20 other products belonging to renowned brands are recalled from the market citing to reason that they are sold without requisite approval by FSSAI. Food safety officials say these 20 brands are inclusive of Ching’s Secret, Top Ramen, Hindustan Unilever’s Knorr, etc.
A list of about 33 products was put up by the FSSAI all of which were approved. The directive has instructed to recall the product and destroy them all whichever are not found in this list of 33. On asking further clarification about it, the FSSAI revealed the list of 20 brands.
