The central government is really struggling to keep a check on the trend of phenomenally increasing prices of pulses!
In all metro cities in India, the trend is that all pulses are being sold at more than Rs.100/- per kg.
The main reason for this unchecked price rise is attributed to the shortage in the quantity of imported pulses.
The most-used pulses like Bengal-gram, black-gram, and split gram are sold at Rs. 100/- per kg.
Information is gathered that the pulses are sold at very high prices in the metros Mumbai & Chennai. The rates are supposed to be 60% higher than last year.
The news report is that unfavourable weather conditions have resulted in reduction of pulse production by 2 million tons.
