New Rs. 100/- Note – with better safety & security features - introduced!

Reserve Bank of India is set to release new series of Rs. 100/- currency notes with better safety & security features.
RBI has informed that the last 6 digits of the currency number will have contrasting sizes and shapes s a new feature.
The first 3 digits of the 9-digit number will all be of the same size & shape. The next 6 digits will be contrasting in shape & size.
Reserve Bank of India informs that it would be easier now to detect counterfeit notes. Though new series of currency notes is being released, the existing old notes would continue in circulation.
RBI has further informed similar plans for bringing out new Rs. 500/- & Rs. 1000/- currency notes.
