With several court orders, the sanctioned teacher posts vacancies in aided institutions are not filled up. When enquired about this, it was known that process of selection has been inordinately delayed. The government had issued an order in 2011 to fill all sanctioned posts, but only 1,244 posts have been filled so far. There were so many Court rulings in the favour of the teachers and private colleges. The Collegiate Education Department issued a fresh G.O. on January 21, permitting aided colleges to fill 1,379 vacancies in aided institution. These vacancies are yet to be filled up. The delay in appointments has given rise to speculation that money is exchanged to fill posts.
