E-governance to be practiced in Pallavaram municipality

Pallavaram municipality is likely to move on to e-governance very soon. G. Prakash, Director of Municipal Administration discussed with the municipal officials and staff about how far they are prepared for implementing centralized e-governance via web portal. The progress of such a centralized method using web application software was discussed and the staff members were instructed to begin with the service providing mechanism. The project is intended to make use of geographical information system in the web-based application and interface.
For all functions of local bodies such as distribution of receipt for property tax, water supply, issue of certificates, etc the module development is currently on the go. This program is aimed at improving service delivery, says K.S.R. Nissar, the municipal chairman.
