Last date for filing of IT returns is 31st August

The last date for filing of IT returns has been extended to August 31 by The Income Tax department. The deadline was extended for the tax payers who have income from salary, house property, other sources and income from business or profession not subjected to audit. For the tax payers who have to statutorily get their accounts audited, the due date remains September 30.
