Metro Bhavan to be set up as Administrative office and Headquarters of Metro

Metro Bhavan is likely to be set up in Nandanam, Chennai at a cost of Rs 150 crore.
Works for construction of metro rail in two routes covering a distance of 45 km is on the go in Chennai. The metro rail service between Chennai Alandur and Koyambedu began on 29th of June this year. Works to wrap up metro rail construction works is taking place in full swing in other rail routes. Amidst these, Metro Bhavan which will serve as the administrative office and operating headquarters will soon be set up.

Speaking about this, the metro officials say 90 percent of works for the construction of above ground metro stations are completed, 75 percent of subway stations are over too. 70 percent of the workshop construction is done too. Furthermore, as planned, a Metro bhavan will be set up at a cost of Rs 150 crore and the works have already begun.
This office will be set up in a 10 acre land area. This will initially be set up as a 5 storey building. This will be the administrative office and operating headquarters of metro rail. Apart from this, residential complex for metro rail officials will also be set up later.
Construction of foundation has already begun. Works to finalize tender for the construction work is on the go. The construction will then begin by next month. These works are expected to get over by end of 217.
