A hotline facility for communication between President of USA, Mr. Obama and the Prime Minister of India, Mr.Narendra Modi has been set up and activated for emergency requirements.
Mr. Narendra Modi is the 1st Indian Prime Minister to have the hotline connection with USA.
India is the 4th country to receive hotline facility with US President.
When US President visited India on Republic Day celebrations, he had promised to be in continuous touch with Prime Minister Mr. Modi. The hotline connection seems to be the first step towards this effort.
Most of the world leaders do not prefer to keep in touch on Facebook or WhatsApp.
The hotline would be used for emergency communications. It can be used by the 2 countries to resolve issues faced by them and also to keep a better world-watch.
Before India, Britain, Russia, and China have this hotline facility. India has now become the 4th country to have hotline facility.
As per sources from the White House, it has started functioning from last week.
This development can be observed as a major crucial step in the good relations between the 2 countries.
