A special EMU train service between St Thomas Mount and Chennai Beach was cancelled. The ‘cut’ service starts exactly at 9:05 am from platform number four and reaches Chennai Beach at 9:45 am, benefiting hundreds, who work at Central and State Government offices nearby.
This service was cancelled two weeks back as per the orders of the Divisional Railway Manager. Station officials contacted by commuters were told that the cancellation was due to administrative reasons. After bearing the brunt for around 10 days, a group of representatives from the Adambakkam Residents Welfare Association met the Divisional Railway Manager Anupam Sharma on August 19.
Now the Beach-Mount `Cut` Service EMU has been restored making the regular commuters happy.
