USIBC Leads Executive Delegation to the Tamil Nadu Global Investors Meet 2015

Chennai - September 4, 2015 - The U.S.-India Business Council (USIBC), as an official partner organization, is leading an executive delegation to the Tamil Nadu Global Investors Meet 2015 in Chennai from September 8-10, 2015. The delegation includes senior representatives from member companies including Amway, NCR Corporation, Uber, PayPal, SunEdison, Ford, IBM, and General Electric.

Ms. Diane Farrell, Executive Vice President of USIBC, who will lead the delegation, noted that, "USIBC is delighted to lead the U.S. presence at the Investors Meet, having long supported Tamil Nadu’s pro-business environment. This will be the first time Tamil Nadu has held a large-scale conclave to attract global investors as part of the `competitive federalism` efforts that India is undertaking." The summit aims to help realize the state`s vision of inclusive growth through foreign direct investment, jobs growth, and balanced regional development.

The Council will host a welcome reception on the evening of Tuesday, September 8 in Chennai to provide the delegation an opportunity to interact with key representatives from the Indian industry, Government of Tamil Nadu and the U.S. Consulate in Chennai. Over the two days of the Investors Meet, the Council will be facilitating in-person interactions for the delegates with senior government officials to discuss investment opportunities in the state.

On September 10, USIBC member companies will participate in a panel discussion and showcase their investments in the state over a special seminar allocated by the Government of Tamil Nadu. Member companies will discuss innovative ideas for better U.S - Tamil Nadu trade collaboration and provide suggestions to improve ease of doing business in the state.

With over 250 U.S. companies across several industry sectors already investing in Tamil Nadu, the Investors Meet will provide an opportunity to highlight the business-friendly approach undertaken by the state. Farrell added: "This Investors Meet will serve as an excellent opportunity for USIBC member companies interested in a wide range of sectors including aerospace, agriculture, infrastructure, informational technology, and renewable energy."
