Dengue fever is spreading again in a few northern states including Delhi. At a time when lots of people have lost their lives because of this fever, the health department is taking various steps to prevent this disease spreading to other states.
In order to prevent this disease, the passengers who arrive from Delhi at Central Station are being screened by Chennai Corporation and Public Health department`s special dengue camp. Passengers after being screened are also given awareness pamphlets.
Assistant health officer of Chennai Corporation Dr Suganya Devi said, Many people are losing their lives due to dengue fever. As a preventive measure, we are screening all the passengers who are coming from Delhi. The dengue fever is spread by mosquitoes. We should see that water is not stagnated around our house. We should remove coconut shells, tyres and other articles which can stagnate water. By doing so we can prevent dengue fever.
