A recent study conducted by Cancer Research UK and Leiden University Medical Centre has claimed that aspirin can kill cancer cells effectively. The study`s results showed that 75% of cancer patients who took aspirin daily were alive after five years of diagnosis. The patients were diagnosed with cancers of the bowel, stomach, pancreas and throat. The paper will be presented at the upcoming European Cancer Congress in Vienna.
The study was conducted on 14,000 adults who had been diagnosed with cancer. However, researchers warned that the medication should be taken only with a prescription from a certified doctor.
