An American scholar has found the earliest known draft of the King James Bible. This Bible holds the post of the most widely read English literature work in the world. It has been translated in countless languages. The draft is in the form of a notebook that has been written by one of 48 translators, all of which are believed to have worked on it.

Jeffrey Alan Miller is an assistant professor in English at Montclair State University in New Jersey. He believes that the notebook dates between 1604 and 1608. The Times Literary Supplement has published an article in which Mr. Miller made his announcement.

Experts in the field have shown great interest in the find and have claimed that it is the most significant archival find, may be even equal to a draft of one of Shakespeare’s plays.

The King James Bible was published in 1611. It was released by the Church of England, when the country decided to renounce Catholicism and become Protestants.
