A new camera which enables take pictures like X-ray has been discovered in Washington University. The will become shortly available for public at reasonably low prices.
This latest camera, called Hypercam, can not only take pictures like x-ray but also helps find whether fruits are ripe enough without cutting them.
This camera operates using 17 different wave-lengths and helps do a precision analysis.
This process is called hyperspectral imaging. This camera is several times more powerful than the camera used for normal purposes.
Fingerprints of 25 different persons were taken with Hypercom – it was found that difference in each fingerprint can be detected with 99% accuracy.
It is expected that this device would be used extensively in the bio-metric registration systems used in offices and factories.
It is worth noting here that the camera function tests proved that it can help find the ripening level of fruits at 94% accuracy.
Though this discovery will help avoid buying over-ripe and rotten fruits, there is also great expectancy among the public eagerly awaiting for the sales of this new camera.
