Nissan India shift to a new Corporate office in Chennai

The Indian unit of leading Japanese car maker Nissan said on Tuesday that it has moved into a new corporate office at T Nagar in Chennai. The new office of the company is spread over an area of 13,500 square feet.

Speaking to the reporters on Wednesday, Nissan Motor India`s Managing Director and CEO, Kiminobu Tokuyama said, "Today marks yet another significant milestone for us at Nissan, as we move to our new corporate office in Chennai." Mr. Tokuyama added , "Not only will this new facility aim to meet the requirements of Nissan`s growing operations in India, it is also in line with our strategy to draw synergies with our alliance partner, Renault, whose corporate office is housed in the same building."

The new corporate office of the company will be hosting a number of different team employees that comprises of programme management team, corporate planning, product planning, exports, after-sales, finance, communications and human resource functions.

In February 2008, Nissan and Renault, which are partners in the global market, had signed an MoU with the Tamil Nadu govt. for setting-up a new manufacturing plant at Oragadam, Near Chennai with an investment of Rs 4,500 crore.
