34 vulnerable spots to have fire stations during Deepavali season

In order to prevent fire accidents due to crackers during the Deepavali festival, fire stations are being set up at 34 spots. Deepavali festival is celebrated on 10th November. The Tamil Nadu Fire and Rescue Services Department is geared up to put of the fire immediately caused due to fire crackers.
 
34 spots in the city and suburbs have been identified by the Fire and Rescue Services Department as vulnerable during the Deepavali season. The vulnerable spots where the fire vehicles will be deployed include MGR Nagar in Nesapakkam, Ayodhya Mandapam in Triplicane, T. Nagar Bus terminus, Besant Nagar bus stand, near Vadapalani signal, Velachery bus stand and Tambaram Bazaar. The stepped-up safety arrangements will be in place from November 8-12, when the shopping season will be at its peak.
 
So, with a view to reinforce the manpower and ensure a quick response in case of an emergency, 12 additional vehicles have been sourced from other parts of the State.
