Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa has announced that the passengers can travel free of cost for four days from 5th December.Normality is now returning gradually in the flood affected districts of Chennai, Kancheepuram and Tiruvallur. At this juncture, people would be travelling to different places. Therefore the MTC buses would be operated free of cost to the travelling public from December 5 to 8.

A team of the Airports Authority of India has carried out inspection of the operational area of the Chennai airport. and in consultation with all the stakeholders, including all airline operators and regulatory authorities, declared that Chennai aerodrome is available for limited day time operations under Visual Meteorological Conditions for technical ferry and relief flight.. Subsequently, this would be upgraded to all weather operations as and when facilities are restored.
