The Tamil Nadu State Government has requested asked people to give complaints, if any, on persons selling Aavin milk at higher rates or if there was lack of milk supply,
Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa had ordered its officials to ensure uninterrupted supply of milk to the people of the city. The company had bought nearly 1.5 lakh litres of milk from other districts and supplied 10.2 lakh litres of milk to the people on Saturday itself. The total requirement of the city is 11.5 lakh litres.
Aavin is selling ½ litre toned milk (blue color sachet) at Ra 17 to its monthly consumers. The same milk is sold for Rs 18.50 by the retailers. The ½ litre standardized milk (green sachet) is sold for Rs 19.50 for the monthly consumers. The retail price is Rs 20.50. ½ litre full cream milk (orange color sachet) is sold for Rs 21.50 for monthly consumers and Rs 22.50 by retailers. ½ litre double toned milk (magenta color sachet) is sold for 16.50 for monthly consumers. The same milk is sold by retailers for Rs 17.
