Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa orders State co-op stores to sell onions at subsidized rates

A few state cooperative stores decided to sell onions and potatoes at subsidized rates. While onions were sold at Rs 28 per kg, potatoes sold at Rs 23 per kg. A photograph released by the government said cooperative stores in the city decided to sell the vegetables at the subsidized rate on instructions from chief minister J Jayalalithaa.
The onions and potatoes were procured from other states to meet state`s demand.
