Due to incessant rain showers and flood, Chennai, Kanchipuram, Thiruvallur and Cuddalore districts were badly affected. Families of those who have lost a family member will be given a relief fund of Rs 4 lakh. Similarly, for those who have got their huts damaged fully and entirely, relief fund of Rs 5000 and Rs 4100 respectively are fixed by the Chief Minister of Jayalalitha.
Recently, on 1st of December, there was heavy rain shower which lead to floods yet again. It largely affected normal lives of people all over. On taking a look at the after effects of flood, Chief Minister Jayalalitha had announced Rs 10,000 as relief fund for those who lost huts and those residing at permanent houses will be given with Rs 5,000. The total number of families affected by the flood are being surveyed and funds will be distributed in a few days after completion of surveying process.
Following this, the government rolled out the eligibility criteria for receiving relief fund.
Who will receive the relief fund?
· Rs 5,000 for those who have lost their huts in the recent flood. For those that are partially affected, Rs 4,100 will be given
· Those who have lost their house partially or fully will receive Rs 5000 towards the loss and added to it, additional Rs 5000 towards loss of basic things like utensils. Further, a saree and dhothi along with will also be given too
· For those who have received relief fund of Rs 4100 will now receive Rs 900 in addition
2 days flood:
Places that got badly affected during the two days rainfall and lost all their belongings including dresses, utensils, etc will receive Rs 5000, 10 kgs rice, dhothi and a saree
Receive the relief in your bank account:
The relief fund will be deposited in your bank account.
· For those who do not have a bank account for receiving the fund, new account need to be opened with banks
· Dhothi, saree and rice can be collected at ration shops
· Works to take statistics are being carried out in these four districts based on the above government orders. These works are targeted to get over by Friday this week
Details Required:
Details including zone, street name, name of family head, mobile number, address, whether there is a ration card, and if there is ration card, its number, whether there is a bank account, if yes, account details, name of bank, its branch, account number, is it a permanent home or hut, how is the home affected - partially or fully? Is the home surrounded by flood water, what are the other Id proofs they have, etc are the details to be given to the official who comes for statistic reports.
