IAS Mains examinations begins today in Chennai

The Union Public Service Commission is conducting the mains examinations for the posts of IAS, IFS, IRS and other allied services throughout the country in 153 centres. There are 1200 vacancies. Around 15,000 candidates are writing these examinations. Chennai is the only centre in Tamil Nadu. The examinations are being held in Anna Salai Quaide Milleth College. 855 candidates are writhing the examination here. The entire exam will be completed in five days. The exam of eight compulsory papers with take place in two shifts and will be completed in four days. The two papers of the optional subject will take one day.
