Christians apply for Jerusalem pilgrimage by 25th January

The State government has invited applications from members of the Christian community to avail the financial assistance of Rs 20,000 to undertake pilgrimage to Jerusalem.
A total of 500 Christians can avail of the assistance every year, for which the CM has already allocated Rs 2 crore for a period of two years. The pilgrimage would comprise visits to holy places such as Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Nazareth, Jordan River and the sea of Galilee.
It has been proposed to organise the pilgrimage during the period March-June 2016. The duration of pilgrimage would be seven to 10 days. The pilgrimage would commence and conclude at Chennai.
The applications for financial assistance can be obtained from the offices of the District Collector, BCs and Minorities Welfare Department, free of cost.
The filled-in applications should reach the Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Minorities Economic Development Corporation, 807, Anna Road, 5th floor, Chennai-600 002, before 5.45 pm, on 25th.
