Now file FIR online; a new move by Maharashtrian Govt

The Maharashtrian government has run the extra mile with its new initiative called e-filing. This makes it possible to register an FIR when a complaint is filed online. This facility has come to practice from the 1st January 2016. It eliminates the need for stepping into the police station for filing any complaint. It is sufficient if an online complaint is filed.
In addition, complaints can also be filed via WhatsApp or SMS services. A copy of FIR will then be sent to one who files the complaint. This online facility will be continuously supervised and made to function in full swing, said Devendra Fadnavis, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra.
