There are 465 e-Service centres run by the Tamil Nadu Arasu Cable TV Corporation Limited (TACTV) including the passport offices in Madurai, Coimbatore and Trichy. In Chennai, these centres have been set up in all zonal, divisional and ward offices to allow people to pay wealth tax, professional tax and company tax.
Services such as property tax payment, tax assessment application, company tax, professional tax, trade licence and birth certificate will be offered free of cost.
Residents, however, will have to pay money for services relating to passport, Revenue Department and Social Welfare Department. For instance, residents will have to pay Rs. 50 for nativity certificate or community certificate issued by Revenue Department. Personnel at the e-seva centres would scan the original certificates and upload them instantly. Revenue officials concerned would issue the certificates based on the scanned documents. Applicants could collect the certificates from the e-service counter. E-service centres will have staff issuing Aadhaar cards, patta, nativity, community, birth and income certificates to residents.
At this juncture, an android application TACTV has been developed. This can be downloaded free of cost from Google Play. With this app you can get various details, service offered, locations and maps about the e service centre.
