All public sector banks have invited for a one-day strike on 29th February. The All India Bank Employees Association has put forward this invite condemning the sacking of P.V. Mohan, the Staff Association Secretary of Dhanalakshmi Bank. They have decided to perform the strike on 29th of February as the federal budget for 2016-17 will be filed on this day.

The invite for this strike is rolled out by Hivindhar Singh, the general secretary of All India Bank Employees Association.

P.V. Mohan, the Staff Association Secretary of Dhanalakshmi Bank, Kerala was sacked for severe allegations. He is also a member of All India Bank Employees Association. Condemning this move by the bank, all the association members have decided to go on a one day strike on 29th February.

Dhanalakshmi Bank has its headquarters outside Kerala. This is one of the age old banks functioning in India. All the measures taken to solve the issue have turned to be failure. We are left with no other way other than indulging in strike. About 2.75 lakh employees belonging to the association will take part in the strike. Public sector banks including Bank of Baroda, Canara Bank, Andhra Bank, etc are suggesting ideas to perform the strike without causing any disruption to banking services to the customers.

In a report rolled out by the Bank of Baroda, it is stated that all its bank branches are requested to take necessary measures to perform the strike without disrupting services to the customers.

This strike is not just within the limits of bankers or banks. This largely has its impact on industrial sector, states a report by Canara bank.
